I finally got around to watching The Book Thief. A wonderful line jumped out at me, where a female character is described at the end of the movie as having been “cloaked with thunder.”

The picture painted with three words was amazing. It captured a woman who was not angry and jaded by the world, but one who was gruff and grumbly, muttering under her breath whether wandering or working.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Now I know three words can capture a picture just as easily.

In the same movie, a character describes the sun mottled with clouds as “a silver oyster” and I could vividly see exactly what it looked like.

How many other things can we describe in all their intricacy in three little words? Let’s try, shall we?

Capture the nuance of something, someone, anything in your world with three words and share it here.
